At Auburn Prison in New York, murderer William Kemmler becomes the first person to be executed by electric chair. Kemmler murdered his wife in 1889. Edwin Davis was the first electric chair executioner, and officially given the title of ""State Electrician""

While we have our point-and-shoots and camera phones, the Curiosity was equipped with the Mardi Camera. It could take 1600 x 1200 pixel color pictures and carry up to 8 gigabytes of storage. It also had a snazzy 720p video camera.
